Hi gents,
Please be advised that the next Masters tournament will be held in March 2022 in Stellenbosch.
This was a very tough decision to make but after numerous factors we have decided to postpone an official Masters tournament for this year and host it in its usual time slot for 2022. We had commitment from just over 50% of the teams for a November tournament and we would rather do it properly than half heartedly.
We are hoping to not have any issues for March next year and as discussed with Neville, this tournament will go ahead and we will play no matter the amount of entries, restrictions so we can get the baton moved over to Durban for 2023.
We will endeavour to get a date out to you guys asap so you can organise some plans with your teams.
We once again apologise as I’m sure this has caused some inconvenience for you and your teams but unfortunately out of our control.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or queries.
Many thanks

Hi All,
After getting responses from the teams over the last 2 weeks we are of the opinion that the risk is too high to continue with planning for March 2021.
Events are still severely curtailed by current legislation. We sense that with all the restrictions & controls, it might not be viable. With less or no spectators and fewer teams we lose the essence of the tournament anyway, whilst risk & liability (Health and Safety) issues could be a minefield for us to organise with getting permits and licences.
Our view is that we should wait for this C-19 dust to settle before we start making any concrete plans. Until then, there are far too many constraints to organise a massive sporting event like masters. This pains us and is very unfortunate and we apologise as we go into March 2021 without our beloved tournament where we enjoy the polo competition but mainly to have a beer with old friends.
Kind regards
Jared and committee
PS: In error we forgot to mention that we still wish to host the tournament next year but just delay it.
We are hoping to host in November when things have settled down. We are also thus hoping you can defer the accommodation and fights a few more months.
We have not secured dates as of yet but will hopefully send some news in Jan/Feb.
We are positive we can host a very lekker tournament in November.
Kind regards
MOB Committee
Willie Nobby Clark passed away from multiple organ failure.
He played his polo for Edenvale and was a great forward with a crafty left hand. Completed 10 Masters before heart problems preventing him from playing. Even after his playing days he would still frequent the Edenvale pool, watch some games and enjoy a beer or two afterwards chatting to his old mates.
The Masters community extend their condolences to the Clark family on the loss of Willie.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday 10th November 2020. Time 14h00. At St James Presbyterian Church, 3 Oxford Road, Bedford Gardens, Bedfordview 💔
Rest in Peace Big Guy.
